Christian GAROUTE - Serres Jazz Festival

To be born in 1943 in Briançon under bombings at a temperature of -18°C probably gives you a strong philosophy and sense of humour. After a diploma in Graphic Arts and Publicity, 2 years at the Beaux Arts in Paris and a career in Publicity and Media, Christian Garoute came back to Serres to live its real passion : painting and sculpture. His current work is based on the theme Shadows and Lights in the old village of Serres. "Black and white is the strongest visual comprehension of the world by the artist. One can only create through simplification, defining contrasts, far from the compromises and transitions". For this 5th Jazz Festival, one of his paintings is Blue Buëch's choicce to illustrate this 5th Jazz Festival.

Christian is also exploring other worlds, with sculpture from recycled metals.
