Take a double bass, two guitars and a
violin. Shake, sprinkle with Slavic rythms, gypsy jazz
and tunes from yiddish folksongs. Don't forget to add a
pinch of swing. And there you have it, the Aurore
Quartet. A giddy cocktail. Since 2005, Aurore
Quartet spurs the dancers in the "guinguettes" and
in-spots of the capital.
With an already full agenda going from the festival "Les
Organtines" in Britany, to Mauritius or Morocco, passing
through the Balkans, Swing 41 Django Fest, Deauville
Jazz Fest, Enghein Jazz Fest, Django Fest Marckolswing
in Alsace, Festival des puces de Saint Ouen, Theatre du
Prisme, Jazz Nimes Metropole Fest. Don't forget the more
famous jazz club Duc des Lombards in Paris or the
Quecumbar in London.
Add four records loved by the FNAC. Including "Live at
the Quecumbar" recorded in february 2009 and "Il y a du
soleil dans la boutique". Aurore will play with Tchavolo
Schmitt, Samson Schmitt, Andreas Oberg and Ludovic Beier
at the famous Birdland in New York in November 2009.
A wild Bach concerto, a Russian melody ending without
complex in a rock style. Aurore Quartet are joyful
compositions which wake up gypsy jazz. Well served with
the cheeky young voice of Aurore Voilque. A 31 year old,
new in the gypsy style but well qualified in the
classical one, before becoming an adept of Django
Reinhart and Stephane Grappelli.
Aurore Quartet, a group to discover urgently in Serres !
